Susan is healthier today by using food as medicine
Fresh Food Farmacy
Nearly 200 donors have contributed to the Fresh Food Farmacy® (FFF) since its inception, raising more than $600,000 for the program that is changing lives and empowering people with diabetes to take control of their health, and give them the resources they need to do so. So far, more than 180 patients and their families have benefited from the program.
For Susan Tikunoff of Kulpmont, participating in the FFF has helped her manage her diabetes and has led to a significant lowering of her blood sugar levels. She also lost 26 pounds. “You get so busy taking care of others that it’s very easy to forget to take care of yourself,” Ms. Tikunoff, who has been caring for aging parents, noted. “The Fresh Food Farmacy has been a wonderful addition to my life, reminding me that I can and should keep myself healthy, and that it’s pretty easy too.”
FFF has plans to expand to Scranton and Lewistown in the near future, all with the help of continued support from the community and donors like you.
