Kids helping kids

Next generation of donors

December 2019 marks the 25th anniversary of Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital at Geisinger Medical Center. Named for the Weis family matriarch and longtime Geisinger benefactor, it has helped countless kids and families thanks to generous contributors like Children’s Miracle Network and thousands more. As we look to the past 25 years and celebrate every single donor, we’re also looking to the future and recognizing some special kids who gave from their piggy banks or raised money for those in need.

Ben Lichtenfeld, age 7, of Lewisburg saved up his allowance and ran a lemonade stand. Ben said “It took me a long time to save up, but I liked giving it to needy kids. It made me feel good!”

Greta Facktor, age 9, of Danville also has a giving heart. “I heard about people who couldn’t afford healthy food and wanted to donate to the Fresh Food Farmacy®. My mom and dad have been teaching me about how important it is to eat healthy.”
